Obstacle Avoidance settings for Vesper
Vesper does not have native obstacle avoidance. The QGC software on the Vision GCS allows for changing the setting that allows an operator to enable "Collision Prevention" and "Obstacle Avoidance". This however is problematic because enabling these settings results in a system message stating "avoidance system is not ready" preventing Vesper from flying.
Please refer to the following steps to ensure that "Collision Prevention" and "Obstacle Avoidance" are both disabled if you receive a message stating that the avoidance system is not ready.
- Power on Vesper and wait for the turquoise LED to switch to blue or green, indicating that the boot is complete
- Power on Vision GCS
- Log in to Vision if necessary
- Tap the “Q” button at the top left of the Vision GCS screen
- Tap “Vehicle Setup”
- Tap "Safety"
- Look for the "Object Detection" panel
- Under "Collision Prevention:" change to "Disabled"
- Under "Obstacle Avoidance" change to "Disabled"
